In order to help our Embassy Community better
understand some of the key points about the
Ebola virus we have consulted with our medical
specialists at the U S State Department and
assembled this list of bullet points worded in
plain language for easy comprehension. Our
medical specialists remind everyone that they
should be following the guideline from the
center
for Disease Control and the World Health
Organisation.
• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit
bats.
• Transmission to humans is thought to originate
from infected bats or primates that have
become
infected by bats.
• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush)
meat transmits the virus to humans.
• Human to human transmission is only achieved
by
physical contact with a person who is acutely and
gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body
fluids.
• Transmission among humans is almost
exclusively among caregiver family members or
health care workers tending to the very ill.
• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap,
bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine
will
kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected
body fluids.
• A person can incubate the virus without
symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8
days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT
CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.
• Only when ill does the viral load express itself
first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids
(to include vomit, feces, urine, bosom milk, Fluid
and sweat).
• If you are walking around you are not
infectious
to others.
• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC
of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the
custom of children never touching an ill adult.
Children living for days in small one room huts
with parents who died from Ebola did not
become
infected.
• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money,
buying local bread or swimming in a pool.
• There is no medical reason to stop flights,
close
borders, restrict travel or close embassies,
businesses or schools.
• As always practice good hand washing
techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you
do not touch a dying person.

I agree with Etcetera's article 'Nigerian Pastors Need To Be Born Again'. So many fake n ungodly pastors. They don't preach the gospel/word. They don't care about salvation and repentance plus making US abide in God's and do his bidings. They care for riches of their own. So many have deceived their followers. They are afraid to loose their members by what they preach other give false hope to their members caring less what becomes of them after here on earth. I would say most churches and their pastors are the root of evil. Many are not choosen by God

What a life?!! I do wonder how these came to be. The lesbian|gay life. Facts say its occlutic. Its been said that mostly only girls secondary schools are prone to this life. I think its a matter of choice , being initiated and a case of been exposed to the wrong beliefs and ideas.
Whatever the society thinks feels and beliefs, the life style has come to stay. Some people wanna change but can't they held down by forces of initiation and spiritual influence. The bible condemns its, the society detest it and individuals have their different feelings about the lesbian|gay life style. All I say is I am confused about the enjoyment behind d life style but at the same time I would say WE all know what's right and wrong but we choose our individual life style and these choices most times are difficult to changes especially when the individual sees no reason to.
My only issue with the life style is that God doesn't want that so I will say you can preach but you can't force one to accept.
What its bin done in the HIV&aids adverts is easier said than done. Yeah rightely put.... Its good for one to know his/her status. I know mine and I check it on a regular bases. I don't know why but I ve never panic while checking it but we still have to be really careful because as people always think that its through unprotected sex you can get it.
When I first went for my HIV test. The lady incharge start councelling me.... All that was in my head was get the damn result already. For my second test. I took the result and open it as I worked out of d lab. The third I decided 2 experience for medical centers are like. I saw a line full with people, all staring* that stimataization if u ask me* I walked up and joined the line. I saw people with the virus, those that had the symtomps but weren't sure and wanted to test. Those that came fresh and wanted to know their status. In all people were looking at each other. I remember when I went asking for the test center I was corrected for using the name hiv test; its called heart2heart test.
I did another free hiv test and the consultanting guy talked to me saying do you engage in unprotective sex? I couldn't help but wonder... Sex they say its not the only way to contact HIV/aids but they say sex is the most occurring way. Well, I wanna say yes to it other ways of contacting HIV are low in percentage that doesn't mean when a person has HIV we conclude its through Sex. Have heard of cases where it wasn't through sex. Another issue is I don't know how many people will marry a lady or man if they knew they had the virus. I listened to a new on NTA() where the lady had the virus and d man went ahead to marry her. I discussed with two of my male friends and they were like no way I can't. I asked for reason; d 1st said he could be in love with the lady but can't because it expensive when it comes to the area of child bearing and sex. The second guy couldn't give any reason but maintained he can't marry no matter the love he has for the lady.
Depite all, these HIV patients still go through a lot of stigma from the society. At their work place, family, friends and even the church. People are scared to know their status because of these stigmatizations. Most people die not because of the virus because of the stigma. The adverts that is been played on air is good because it educates the pubic But my major concern is the society hearing and praticing it.
In the world today despite the virus, deseases, infectioins, tales of woes, sorrows seen; We still don't pratice abstaince or use of condom. We scared of all thes yet we don't don't anyting or make effort to change events. Majority of us still don't use condom. Majority of use still don't know our status. majority of us don't practice what we hear in the HIV aderts, commercials, documentries. Know your status, if you have the aids, you start your treatment. Its not easy but shun the stigma and take care of you. You will leave a great life even in your status.
